Join us for a speaker event featuring Robert Grillo - founder of Free From Harm, a Chicago-based animal advocacy organization focused on advancing systemic change for animals through grassroots organizing, public education, and movement-building. This event will take place on 3/19 - Doors open at 6 but the talk won’t start until 7. We will have vegan food and drinks! If you plan on coming, please register on Luma.
Robert will provide a deeper look at Free From Harm’s theory of change — including how they think about shifting cultural norms, building grassroots power, influencing policy, and accelerating the transition toward plant-based food systems. He’ll discuss the strategic reasoning behind their campaigns, how they measure progress, and what they see as the most promising leverage points for reducing animal suffering at scale.
Following the talk, we’ll open the floor for discussion and Q&A.
Robert Grillo is an activist, author, and speaker working for a transition to a plant-based food system. Since 2009, Grillo has been spearheading the work of grassroots activism group Free from Harm, organizing actions and events around the country where the highest level powerholders are making the biggest deals and decisions about our food system, impacting billions of animals, consumers, and the planet.
Also reminder - The UChicago EA group has invited us to join them for their end of quarter symposium on Thursday March 5th. You can register for that here.
